Energy & Transitioning to a low carbon economy in Africa

Through our fieldwork activities and expert reports, we address how African societies can transition to a low carbon economy by among others utilising and embracing renewable energy sources. In this respect, we do research and publish reports on the subject of energy transition; trainings and capacity building for government officials and local communities.

We also engage the private sector and other stakeholders. Recognising the fact that there are inequalities in society and as such energy transition may affect people differently, we advocate for the application of justice principles in the energy sector.

Our in-house team and external consultants have vast knowledge and expertise on issues relating to energy justice, a just transition to a low carbon economy, environmental justice just to mention but a few. In this respect, we research and offer trainings on how  African societies can transition to a low carbon economy in a just manner.
